For the past two weeks I've been having major pangs of blog guilt... knowing that it's just sitting here... empty and alone.
And I've had lots to report... just no motivation to blog.
But I really want to change that. I really want to blog. I just need to rekindle my desire to do it.
So... here are a few highlights of what I've been up to since my last post.
First, I met Hillary Clinton. Shook her hand. Looked her in the eye. Tried not to blush. Our TV station held a "Town Hall Meeting" the week of Oregon's Primary Election and after everyone had left... those of us working the night shift got to take a little group shot with her. Can you see my wee head poking through? You might have to click on it.

(I look like such a DORK in this picture. The shadows aren't doing me many favors. And I promise I'm not blushing. I'd just gotten some sun that morning... and maybe I'm blushing a little. Darn Flushed Face.)
Despite the fact that several readers of this blog think she's "the devil", I found her charming, genuine (yes, I said genuine), and she's got GREAT HAIR! I mean, I'd be proud if my highlights looked like that!
And for balance's sake... also this month we taught Cash how to say "Barack Obama." We have video of this and I will try to post it later.
Also last month... we attended the Beaverton Farmer's Market with Paul's sister's husband Kevin and Cash's two cousin's Keenan and Molly.
It was sunny and nice and we had a great time until we returned to the car. When we tried to start it... the key would not turn over and we finally decided that the ignition switch had busted.
(I'm not going to include the part in this story about how we called a locksmith who made a new key which didn't work... and then accidently took my set of keys which had the mail key on it... which we then had to retrieve from him a day later... and then ended up waiting nearly 2 hours for him to show up!)
We had to have the car towed and then had to rent a car to get around over Memorial Day weekend. Which leads me to my next big announcement... that after 11 years of driving this car:

We finally bought a new car! We are finally the proud owners of a 2008 Honda CR-V.
I've had my eye on this baby for over a year now. (Ever since they came out with the new sleeker looking CR-Vs in 2007, and it's finally MINE! We haven't even had it for a week yet, but I so love it!
And I promise, our next car will be a hybrid. Although, considering I drive cars into the ground... it will probably be awhile before we get one. Maybe by then... hybrids will be more affordable.
And don't worry. We didn't trade in the Geo. I'm still using it to get back and forth to work. We'll only use the new car for family trips.
Anyway, we celebrated Memorial Day down at Paul's parent's home in Dallas. I will post some pictures of the various games of croquet that we played... later.
So that's it. The big recap.
And now as I look forward to the weekend... it's going to be a good one! That's because tomorrow a certain 1 year old in our house will turn 2! I'll be sure to post Birthday party pics!
Also on the weekend schedule: Portland's Grand Floral Parade and a trip to the Ocean!
I hope we can fit everything in! Buckle your seat belts! It's gonna be a CrAzY!

I think shes a good leader
I think Hillary must be charismatic, but the poor dear lost her moral compass (think Tanya Harding).
I HATE cars. I'm happy that you have a new CRV. The CRV was one of our favorite cars ever and yours is a clone of Emily's new car: zeitgeist!
The farmers market looks spectacular. Provo's is minimal by comparison, but at least it's a start.
Have missed seeing and reading what you are doing, so thanks for the great post.
OXO
D.
Of course Hillary has great hair, she needs to hide her horns!
Even as an non-Hilary fan, I think it is cool you got to meet her. I'm sure live and in person she comes off much better.
Congrats on the new car.
